JAMIE WINS .... AGAIN!!

Young Artist Awards
AT CEREMONIES IN LOS ANGELES, JAMIE JOHNSTON, STAR OF DEGRASSI FAME, TOOK HOME THE BEST ACTOR AWARD FOR HIS ROLE AS PETER STONE IN DEGRASSI: THE NEXT GENERATION.  PERHAPS UNPARALLELED IN YAA AWARD HISTORY, IT IS JOHNSTON'S FIFTH NOMINATION IN FIVE YEARS AND HIS SECOND WIN.

Jamie won a Young Artist Award in 2004 for his role as Cory in the Movie of the Week, "More Than Meets the Eye: The Joan Brock Story" where he played a blind boy struggling to make it in a sighted world.  He has garnered two previous Best Actor nominations for his role on Degrassi (CTV, The N) and one for his role as Cliff on Wild Card (Lifetime/Global) in addition to his win.  http://www.youngartistawards.org. CASTING NEWS --  Jan. 4 /08 -- Jamie Johnston ("Degrassi: The Next Generation," "Wild Card") is set to star in the Lifetime Original Movie "The Tenth Circle," based on the New York Times best-selling novel of the same name by renowned author Jodi Picoult.   "The Tenth Circle" is a powerful account of a family and a story that probes the unbreakable bond between parent and child.  Laura Stone (Kelly Preston) teaches at a local college and is wife to Daniel (Ron Eldard), a comic book artist. Their idyllic lives are turned upside down when their daughter accuses her ex-boyfriend, Jason, (Jamie Johnston) of raping her.  When Jason later dies in an apparent suicide, the family finds itself in the center of a high profile investigation that rocks their community revealing just how far parents will go to protect their children. Shooting starts in Halifax in early January

Jamie is nominated for the fourth time for a Young Artist Award!  This nomination is for his characterization of Peter Stone in the popular teen series, Degrassi:  The Next Generation.
